　　The department of College English was founded in 1992 and renamed in 2007 with the development of the whole university.

　　The department of College English is now mainly committed to the teaching of the fundamental English language skills to all the first and second year non-English majors of the whole university. It also endeavors to help the students pass the National College English Test Band 4 & 6， and also the College Practical English Test.

　　As our university mainly focuses on the 4-year undergraduate education， our department also puts great emphasis on the improvement of the College English teaching. During the past few years， the Department of College English has made great progress in the reform of teaching materials， language training， the construction of internet environment and teaching research.

With the joint efforts made by our teachers and students， the Department of College English will have a brighter future.

大学英语部创建于1992年，原为学校直属大学英语教研室。后因学校办学规模扩大，于2007年定名为大学英语部。

 

大学英语部担负着全校公共英语课的教学任务，并指导学生通过全国大学英语四、六级及实用英语考试。大学英语部现由分散在校本区、西校区、南、北校区等四个校区共5个教研室组成。现有专职教师60名，教辅人员3名，其中中高级职称占所有教师的63%，硕士学位以上的教师占47%以上。大学英语部党政负责人和全体教职工同心协力，锐意进取，敢想敢干，在本科生和研究生英语综合能力培养和较高层次外语专门人才培养方面发挥着重要的作用。

 

　　大学英语部的工作重心一直放在如何提高本科生英语教学质量上。在校领导的关心下，经过了多次教学改革试验，大英部自1997年来，不断改进“因材施教、分类指导”的分级教学制度。取得了显著的教学效果。近年来在教学内容、教学手段、语言训练、网络环境建设以及教学研究等方面进行了卓有成效的改革，取得了较大的成绩。

　　经过全体教职员工、历届党政领导的不懈努力，大学英语部目前师资队伍构成趋于合理，教师队伍稳定、素质良好，教学管理科学规范，教学改革不断深入，教学质量逐年提高，科研工作蓬勃开展，学术气氛日趋浓厚。

　　有了师生的共同努力，我们相信，大学英语部的明天会更加灿烂辉煌。
